About LaCrèw

We love freedom, adventure and nature. The free view over the water, the deceleration while sailing and the wind that drives us forward. Sailing is at the same time simple and infinitely diverse. Sailing involves navigation and seamanship, as well as understanding the inner workings of the engine, dealing with the weather. We like that you never stop learning. That every voyage gives us the opportunity to test our limits, to get to know each other better or in a new way. That as soon as we cast off, we leave everyday life behind.

LaCrèw is composed of sailing enthusiasts united not only by the passion for waves, wind and sea, but also by the desire for a place where all women*, lesbians, inter*, trans*, non-binary and queer people can be free from sexism, racism, homophobia and trans*phobia and relax and focus on what matters: Sailing.

What we do

We offer sailing trips in different sea areas, in summer mostly on the Baltic and North Sea, in winter we go south, e.g. to the Mediterranean or the Atlantic. Most of the time we are sailing on the sailing yacht Anthana, which is 14 meters long and offers space for up to 8 persons. We spend the night in two-person cabins.

What we want

The most important thing is to have fun and feel good together!
Instead of pressure to perform, competitiveness and lone warriors, we focus on solidarity, space for feelings and friendship in order to learn together and in a relaxed way everything that is needed for sailing.
We want an atmosphere free of sexism, homophobia, trans*phobia, racism and other discriminatory behavior.
It is nicer for everyone if all participants can openly address their respective needs, we deal with criticism respectfully and everyone can learn from each other together.
All women*, lesbians, inter*, trans*, non-binary and queer people are especially welcome at LaCrèw.
Offers that are open to cis men are marked accordingly.

In addition to yachts, I also like to travel on traditional sailing ships.

Since 2010 I have been organizing womyn* and women*trans*inter*nonbinary trips on traditional ships and yachts.
I was always happy to be able to experience how initially reserved people suddenly dared to do more and let themselves out.

What I particularly like about sailing is being on the move, dealing with nature/weather and ship, all different aspects of navigation and meeting people beyond the apparent constraints and certainties of everyday life.

I have been sailing regularly on traditional sailing ships and yachts for over 10 years and have covered more than 2000 nautical miles on the Baltic and North Seas, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

I love rocking on the waves and letting my eyes wander into the distance and enjoying the feeling of freedom. It’s always great to experience how the crew grows together on a sailing trip, how the initially new sailing maneuvers are easier and easier and how a small community develops on board.

At LaCrèw I’m responsible for advertising and public relations and on board I’m also happy to provide the musical accompaniment for romantic sunsets with the accordion.

When I first heard about a queer feminist sailing collective in 2019, I couldn’t believe it – finally sailing the seas with other queer/feminist people, yay!

Boats and water have always fascinated me, but it wasn’t until six years ago that I really caught the sailing bug. Since then, I have sailed more than 3000 nautical miles on the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. (SBFSee/ Binnen and SKS).

When sailing, I particularly appreciate experiencing nature from a different perspective and the possibility of simply being in the here and now.

Through my training in boat building, I have learned a lot about the care, maintenance and technical equipment of yachts.
I am very much looking forward to sharing my knowledge at the workshops of the LaCrèw Sailing Academy and to taking a closer look at one or two components together with the participants.

I started dinghy sailing on Berlin lakes as a puppy. I went to sea for the first time when I was 6 months old.
In the meantime I have sailed approx. 7000sm on the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.
What I particularly like about sailing: cuddling with the crew, treats, chilling on deck and going ashore in new places all the time.
What I don’t like so much: sailing under engine, bad weather.
